Q – How can i know whether i am awakened or not?
Are you suffering? Ever feel lonely, depressed, anxious, fearful, worried, jealous, envious? If you are experiencing these things and then taking them personally and suffering them, then you are not yet awakened.
An awakened being becomes free from all suffering, because the realization of ‘what they truly are‘ happens and suffering then ends completely, it ends because the dreamt ‘me’ energy and personalized thought based ego identity ends, this ending is the total freedom and liberation, or what has been termed ‘Enlightenment’. When a being is still lost in the dream of the ego identity, they then believe themselves to be a personalized sense of self and so every thought, feeling and situation seems to report to this personalized self and the personalized self through its ‘persona’ reacts and responds in many different ways to those experiences, and the result is a perceived negative and contracted one from the ‘me’ identity. When you are in total inner freedom from thought, feelings and what happens and does not happen, then you can say you are closer to awakening
Q – How do i surrender and let go?
Surrender and letting go is a realization not a process. All you are letting go of… or surrendering is that which is not ultimately you…the ego and the ‘me’ energy. You are actually letting go of nothing but an illusion, the illusion that you are the thoughts, beliefs, emotions and a separate ‘me’ energy. Its like holding a hot coal which is causing you discomfort and pain, how do you let it go? You simply relax…relax your grip on it, and stop identifying with it and relax
Q – Do i have to get rid of the mind and thoughts for Enlightenment?
Enlightenment does not mean that you must kill the mind, it just means that you awaken to a level beyond the thoughts and mind to where they no longer become as relevant and do not have the ability anymore to take you over like they used to. An enlightened being may still have thoughts from time to time, its just that these thoughts will appear as more of a light and subtle background noise, and because you have no identity with them, they take second place and become the servant instead of the master as they were before.
Also, in the Enlightenment, you can use the mind whenever you wish just like you would pick up a hand tool only when you want it, then you can put it down and it will no longer bother you. The less attention the mind gets the more quite and peaceful and spacious it becomes. When a being is Enlightened it matters not whether thoughts are there or not, you do not mind either way as you are completely free from them
Q – Which Meditation is best?
This depends on exactly what you are looking to achieve. Is your target Enlightenment and Liberation, or are you just looking to play around and flit from one thing to another? As an example, often times people will want to open their third eye because they believe it will bring some fulfilling experiences, however, essentially without knowing where you are really going, you will wonder around aimlessly lost doing all the wrong things and never really get anywhere of any significance. First decide what you really want, do you want to know who you are and become free? Or do you want to have impressive stories and abilities to try and impress others or fit into a certain circle or crowd?
Make the choice. If you choose Liberation, then the best Meditation is what i call ‘Pure Meditation’, this Meditation is the only ultimate and true Meditation. Essentially the word ‘Meditation’ is derived for an ancient word which means ‘beyond body & mind’, and so in its essence Meditation is the natural movement into your pure spirit nature beyond the body and mind identity. Through the teachings of Silent Truth we have a method of bringing a person to this stage of Pure Meditation in our four step Meditation process, (to see more about that visit the coaching and Inner Awakening page on the website).
Whatever it is that you want, you must use the right tool for the job, otherwise if you try to hit a nail with a screwdriver, then you will not be getting anywhere fast. Pure Meditation is for Awakening and Liberation
Q – I had an awakening or moments of bliss & Oneness but then i lost it, how to get back there?
The very first thing to realize is that you can never ever get back there, why? Because the bliss and oneness you felt was simply an experience, an experience that can come and go, evidenced by the fact that it did come and go and that you are now seeking it again. There can be no repeat experiences in this existence, all experience is unique. What you essentially are is beyond all experiences and beyond that which can come and go, the essence you are is just simply here always and can never go anywhere, it only appears to because you are paying more attention to the experiences than the experiencing itself. An experience is something that has already happened and then gone, while experiencing is that which is continually happening and that you can be found in and as. You can never be found in an experience, and so it is futile to hold onto experiences thinking that somehow you can recapture yourself, as you are always here and can never be captured.
First let go of the experience and the story you have about the experience, this is blocking you, and now let go of trying to repeat an experience, it can’t be done. Drop all ideas of future and getting somewhere, Let go and just be with what happens
Q – How do i stay in the Present Moment?
It’s impossible, you cannot stay in the present moment, because that would imply that you have the ability to leave it. However you and everyone are always in the present moment, all bodies are always firmly planted in the moment, it is just simply a case of whether you notice it or not. Quit trying to be in the moment and just notice it
Q – How do i discover myself?
The quickest way to discover what you are is to stop looking for yourself in the world and the external objects and experiences of the world. At best these things can act as a reminder for you to drop some illusions you have about yourself, or the experiences of the world can do the opposite and appear to give you more complex ideas about yourself that will seem to camouflage you even further from discovering your nature. Ultimately you can never be truly found in the world, the more you search out there for your true nature, the more you will become lost. When you cease to look in the world for who you are, then naturally ones curiosity goes inwards
Q – How do i heal past trauma, guilt or pain?
The first way to heal past trauma is to realize that you are not a victim to what has happened in the past, you are here right now in this present moment, and you are a conscious being with your own free will and choice. The second thing is to realize that the past no longer exist, but yet you keep reliving it with memories and may constantly be thinking and reminiscing about it, stop this constant thinking about it, and see how much it hurts you by you giving it so much significance with your constant reflection on it.
The issue for most beings is that they tend to live through the past and bring it with them into the present moment even though it no longer physically exists anymore, in other words, people tend to carry a past that no longer exists, drop the past and realize that only the present moment is real and true. The issue with what has been done already in the past…is that it can no longer be changed, but yet what can be changed is how you are seeing it and holding onto it now. Release your burden and let it go, let it go and live a beautiful life right here in the present moment, its all here for you. Go for Liberation and Awakening and all of these kinds of traumas and guilt will be healed. (See the Secret Self book for more on healing trauma and guilt)
Q – How do i stay aware and conscious all the time?
Let me ask you a question; ‘are you aware right now?’
I want you to try something, try to not be aware right now…
Did you succeed? No i knew not, because we are always aware all of the time, its just that you allow yourself to wonder off into believing everything the mind says and thinks, believing every imagination and memory, believing every story or interpretation the mind says, stop doing that. Bring awareness to the body, or even greater…bring awareness to awareness.
Q – How do i begin to practice Mindfulness?
The first step is to understand what mindfulness is, it is this ‘paying attention to something specifically and consciously on purpose in a non-judgmental fashion. You can do that with anything, like paying attention to how your body and breath feels, to what is experienced through your five senses, and by paying attention to the present moment and what is in the present moment. To know more about ‘mindfulness’, watch the video on the silent truth channel entitled ‘ Mindfulness ~ What Is Mindfulness & How To Practice It ~ FREE Practice’, in this video i give a description and Free practice for you to begin with
Q – How do i deal with Negative people?
The first thing that must be realized, is that we are not a victim to what other people say or do, we have full conscious ability to become a master of our reactions and responses. Often times we suffer not because of what other people do, but because of how we react to what other people say and do, its our reactions that bring us suffering not the actual person or people in question. It takes a lot of maturity to realize this, to realize that you are the soul and sovereign master of your body and reactions.
If you struggle to handle your reactions and you feel as though they are out of control, then this is where meditation and ‘waking up’ comes in, ultimately awakening to your true nature beyond the ego identity is the answer, as when you awaken you become a master of the body/mind organism, not because you necessarily control them, but because you awaken beyond them to see that mind, thought, feeling and emotion is not who you really are but instead a phenomena that occurs ‘in’ what you are, this realization awakens you to see that they have no control over you anymore. First awaken to your true nature, and then you may come to see that negative people will not bother you anymore, in fact you may come to find that they may eventually not frequent in your vicinity much longer
Q – How do i deal with a conflicting relationship?
First we must understand that if a relationship is in conflict that it takes two to tango and that we must be part of the problem also. The way that the ego mind works is that it lives in a duality vision of right and wrong…good and bad, my opinion vs your opinion or my belief vs your belief, this the beginning of friction and conflict. When you get two egos that are rigid and stuck in its belief and opinion (which all egos are in some form), then conflict become inevitable. So the way to deal with a conflicting relationship, is not to try and control or change the other, because that will not work…it never does, but for you to awaken yourself and transform the situation by becoming liberated. Then thus by becoming liberated you will begin to act and respond from a place of unconditional love instead of from the reactive patterns of the separate ‘me’ energy. Or if the relationship still has no joy or harmony in it, and is only continuing to bring you both down…then leave as it will be the best thing for both of you
Q – Are the chakras important to work with for Spiritual Awakening?
The chakras are good to work with, but they must be understood in context with true awakening which is the awakening beyond the level of thought and mind.
The chakras are an expression of life force energy within the body but that originally came from the individual soul body that beings incarnate with. This individual soul body for most people has many karmic imprints on it that must be worked out and cleansed or awakened beyond. Working with the chakras helps to cleanse and balance these energies and rid them of impurities, but when one awakens to their ultimate nature beyond the body and mind and into liberation, they automatically step out of all karma and then the soul body begins to naturally and spontaneously realign itself and can go through a process of cleansing and working out any remaining karmic imprints. So one can just work with the chakras, but this may be a much slower process of awakening than if you just go straight to the source of all awakening, which is to awaken beyond the body, mind and level of thought. This can happen through very specific techniques
Q – How can i stop worrying about money?
The first thing you must ask is whether it is really money that you are worried about and fearing or whether it is something else, something that is underneath that worry or fear? Often times through the mind we may seem to worry about one thing, when in actual fact it is really that we are worrying about what people may say if we don’t have enough money, whether we may end up homeless and then what people may say about that. The mind has many branches like a tree going back further and further to a root belief that is really the fear. Question it and see whether it is true, often it is not. (See the Secret Self book – chapter 12 for the tools to question and transcend any belief).
How many times have you worried about money but it has always been ok in the end? And by that i mean that you are still here and alive? Something was looking after you and supporting you even then. The beauty about hindsight is that you can look back and see that you always made it out of challenges and issues alive. To have trust in life is a beautiful thing, as the more we trust the more we align ourselves with life receive pure grace from existence and are helped and supported along the way, trust life and trust yourself
Q – Don’t we all have an ego? Isn’t it normal in this human existence?
The ego is an expression and term to explain when a being is caught in the limited dreamlike identity of believing they are the body, mind and thought identity. It is a reference to the separate ‘me’ energy that believes it is cut off from the rest of existence. So in essence there is actually no ego, the ego doesn’t in itself exist and is an illusion, but for those that are trapped in the sleeping state of believing they are the body and mind identity, it is helpful to way for a being to have the ability to recognize their own false illusions they are believing… so that they can wake up beyond it. By identifying the believed illusions and terming it the ‘ego’, it allows a being to be aware of those misperceptions so that they might transcend and awaken beyond it. When a being truly awakens, they drop all illusions and misperceptions and therefore they exist without this thing called the ‘ego’. So it is possible for all beings to have no ego if they only come to awaken beyond all misperceptions and illusions
Q – How can i overcome my fears?
The first step to overcoming any fear is to become aware of it and look at it clearly, and then maybe ask the question ‘why exactly does this frighten me?’, as long as the personal identity and ‘me’ energy is still there, there will always be fears. By questioning the fear you are looking to question its truth and validity, because often times we are fearing and believing things that we can’t ultimately know to be true. Fear is always about the future…haven’t you noticed? Its always about ‘what will be’ or ‘what may come’, how many times have you imagined and was so certain something was going to happen a particular and exact way…and then it didn’t? I’m guessing more times than not.
The future doesn’t exist and all you ever have to contend with is ‘what is’ right here and right now, its only when you begin to wonder off into imagination that fear comes, stay in reality here and now. Ultimately, all fears stem from the root fear…which is the fear of death and primarily the death of the ego and personal ‘me’ energy, this is why fear comes…to try and protect what you ‘think’ you are, overcome the fear of death and you will overcome all fears. (see chapter 4 – ‘having no fear’ in the Secret Self book)
