Water is a basic molecule made up of 2 hydrogen atoms and 1 oxygen atom called H20, the human body is about 70% water and muscles alone are also 70-75%% water ..this emphasizes how important is it to stay hydrated at all times. Water helps to prevent injures in the gym by cushioning joints and other sort tissue areas, it helps to regulate the bodies temperature stopping you from getting too hot.
It plays a vital role in brain function, as the brain is composed of 95% water, blood is 82% water and the lungs are 90% water, so proper hydration is vital for keeping these bodily functions running properly.
Water is also the single most important nutrient in the body,it carries nutrients to cells, but also the most abundant, it helps dissolve minerals in the body such as vitamin B6, B12 and vitamin C just to name a few.
Another main job of water is to clean out the toxins in our kidneys, proper hydration keeps the kidneys healthy and the body free from disease and infection.
Also water helps in digesting food, with out it the food would be really hard to break down and slow down the digestion process leading to poor health.
These are but a few functions and benefits of water, so the question is…are we drinking enough to stay healthy??
